I've mused, and it seems rather popular in the press these days, about Texas going blue. It remains to be seen whether e.g. the recent abortion restrictions represent an overstepping zenith of the Perry bloc, but the demographics trends in TX are unmistakable. That said, deviates towards the center when one looks at exit polling versus race.
What got me going was wondering about gun control and demographics, it seems the polls track the issue with even Gallup not giving its normal ethnic/income breakdown. It does seem from elsewhere that gun attitudes (along with the role of state) track with the 'obama coalition' : young, 'minority', educated women.
It seems that in 10 years the courts are going to be visiting the 2nd amendment with the same frequency they will likely be visiting R. v W. in the next year or two.
Perhaps it will be demographics that will break the back of the NRA in the end.
