that genuinely isn't so.
first, i am not so smart. i do the easy stuff and leave clever people to do the difficult things.
second, i know dig pretty well at this point and he is unbelievably brilliant in many areas i would love to know as well he does. eg anything biological or chemical he is insanely well informed. his process and mine are very similar but personally i think he's got way more elasticity than me.
third, because doma is a very good arguer with a wildly bizarre and interesting template of the universe from which to engage. which is great fun even though we agree on very little. but agreeing isn't what it ought to be about. not only that but doma has great character and will stand up to anyone. which is awesome.
fourth, because you and awk understand the engineering detail at wave to a depth that i cannot approach. i may not think that knowledge gives you a timeline. but i do see it demonstrates an intrinsic ability which i don't have and which i envy.
and fifth, because brains are colonies and if you get a bit more of one thing you often get a little less of something else.
there aren't many useless brains. they are all the product of maybe 1 or 2 billion years of evolution. who are we to judge one or another of them?
