On the front page of today's 'Drudge Report' there's a picture of Michelle Obama and the caption "I'M IN A 'PRISON'".
The First Lady made that comment while responding to questions put to her and the former First Lady, Laura Bush, about life in the White House during a women's conference this week in Africa. However, what was NOT noted is that it was Laura Bush who first used the term 'prison' to describe the White House and what it was like living there, and she even made a joke about it being a 'really nice prison, with a great chef'. But of course, Drudge runs the 'PRISON' line under the picture of Michelle Obama and NOT Laura Bush. The least that they could have done would have been to have a picture of BOTH First Ladies since they BOTH made that reference with respect to their experiences while living in the White House, but it was more important to convey to his base audience the notion that the black wife of our first black president is somehow less than appreciative of the accommodations being provided for her with taxpayer money.
