It's been a close race,about the time she'd catch up, Contract or COLA would kick in, maybe keep me a sliver ahead, but I really wanted her to make more, even double, triple mine, so she backed out, finished her degree, but in a few years the slide began, we weren't willing to relocate to make it happen. Actually we paid dearly for staying here in wine country, if we'd moved int the metro are, salaries would have jumped a lot. So negotiations were tougher even in techy startups, because they knew everyone wanted this area..

My wife made more than I did for our first four years of marriage. And we're still together after 46 years.
