KTC,
Every generation has to encounter what it encounters. And, how they react and deal with it defines who they are in the eyes of history. I would agree that our baby boomer generation has slipped by without some of the worst ravages of what prior generations have experienced. However, many have had a hard time of it due to this great recession and many didn't have it so bad during the Great Depression either. We are a society that is used to a certain standard of living and even our poor don't have it so bad compared to what some of the rest of the world have to put up with. We'll just have to see what is coming and do our best with it. But, as FDR said: All we have to fear is fear itself!
As for me, I've had a nice run here and done pretty much all that I have wanted to do. My bucket doesn't have a large list if it ever had one. I have sound foundations under me provided by my upbringing and my religious and spiritual convictions and if they want to take everything away from me, they can have it because the really important stuff, they cannot touch.
Regards,
Joe
To say that "God exists" is the greatest understatement ever made across space and time.
