Antonin Scalia, while he voted along with his eight fellow justices on the legal aspect of today's unanimous ruling in the DNA case, he reserves his judgement about the actual scientific bases for the arguments made since he personally couldn't relate what was said to his understanding of biology or genetics. Well how in the heck is that relevant? After all, he's a lawyer and NOT a geneticist or even a biologist. Does he think that unless he has personal life-experiences related to the cases before the court that he can't accept the arguments made by those who actual are experts in these fields? And we wonder sometimes why he in particular seems to be so tone-deaf to the issues which really effect this country and the people who live here.
