Churches are already ignoring the rules and acting like political groups, so they have nothing to gain and billions to lose by giving up their special tax breaks. So privatize 'em! Dump the 501c Groups, too..
And do what, apply to the IRS for a 501(c)4 status so that they can then start to spout political rhetoric from the Sunday pulpit and simply claim that they're fulfilling a 'social educational' need, like all those Tea Bagger groups, who despite all the crazy scandal talk, not a single one of which had their applications for tax-free status denied?
