Hi Cactus Flower,

Since 9/11 a majority of Americans are willing to forgo privacy for the sake of stopping terrorists.

For the record, I was opposed to The Patriot Act.
And while I have more confidence in Obama than GWB, once these powers are given NO president wants to give them back.
I always ask myself, what if a 'Cheney' was in office.............OMG!

After the Boston bombing Americans were asking WHY the government wasn't aware of the radicalization of the brothers prior...(we have an instant gratification problem)

A recent poll shows they/we support drones, even though they create more ill will towards America.

Mostly, the press, Libertarians & some others are questioning these policies.

Friday, June 07, 2013

A new poll by NBC News and the Wall Street Journal finds that 66 percent of Americans surveyed overwhelmingly support the use of drone strikes to kill suspected terrorists.

Only 16 percent opposed the use of unmanned aircraft while 15 percent said they did not know enough information to make a decision.

i expect this tool is effective.

so the question is, would people be content to absorb the terrorism that may explode upon them if these tools were unavailable?

i would be willing to accept the risk. freedom and privacy are worth a lot. but i doubt folks would in general once the bombing set in. and some would suffer the horrendous consequences.

it is a question of choices.

even so, the derisory song is appropriate. o surely knew he was raising expectations. i am sure la clinton will feel he deserves what's coming to him.
