ah. we have a poster here called faul, who used to be doma. doma thinks reality as we experience it in the universe is an illusion, a software artefact, a hologram. matter, space and time are unimportant. the spirit /conscience is the plain upon which truth actually resides. he's a kind of modern gnostic in the tradition of the gospel of thomas.

whereas the thomas of the new testament is the exact opposite. he is concerned with material things. he requires evidence to inform his beliefs. to that extent he is my favourite character in the jesus saga. i, cactus, would behave like thomas if i was a character in the bible. i would demand to see the wounds to prove that the risen jesus is the same as the crucified one. i would happily present myself as the sceptic rather than the faithful believer.

I'm afraid you've lost me here. I don't understand.

it would be a bit like telling a tale about doma and having him be concerned by matter, when we know he sees reality as a sort of artificial construct sitting atop a software template.

now if a cactus-like character appeared in the gospels, you'd expect that person to poke at the wounds.
