Dogmas always create hatred.

Maybe 30 years ago, the unthinking dogmas were mostly on the left.

Nowadays, they are on the right.

It kinda happens when the middle shifts.

The middle isn't between the two parties these days. There's free space to the left of the democratic party. But the democrats are slightly right of centre, about where the UK conservatives are situated.

I met yesterday morning with my local Supervisor in our County, a right-leaning independent. We met to discuss local issues with two other local constituents; one a strong female republican, and the other a strong female tea-party advocate.

I found the discussions we had to be very intriguing. It all began with observations about an Obama bumper sticker on my car, a handicapped accessible van. I quickly explained that my handicapped wife was a strong Obama supporter.Cheesy Grin

I did acknowledge that I was a left-leaning "Jeffersonian republican" grounded with credentials dating back to the late 1960's/early 1970's free-thinking revolution. As I truly see myself in the middle of two extremes, I feel overwhelmed by the disdain I see on the right and the left, equally, seemingly confirming my lifelong perspective of an outsider. Go figure?

Could it be that we are creating our own corrective disease based upon hate?

Rambling on....
