In an interview on Morning Joe on MSNBC this morning, former White House Councelor David Axelrod brought out that part of the reason for the investigation that engulfed the Associated Press was instigated by criticism last year from people such as Republican senator John McCain about leaks coming from the administration that McCain and others thought were compromising national security. Axelrod also stated that sources at the justice department thought that the leak in question was the most serious that they had ever seen. Several sources have stated that the department has exhausted all other means of finding the leaker beofre they began to investigate the Associated Press. There are still questions about how the justice department has proceeded with the investigation and whether what they did was ethical and legal or not.

Regards,

Joe
