hi doma,
absolutely. that same dualism is everywhere you look.
in physics, we find it in the smallest quantum scales and in the largest: so on the one hand we see it in the uncertain state of sub-atomic particles; and on the other, it is exhibited in the energetic expansion of the big bang and the reassertion of the principle of concentration in the form of matter, celestial bodies, galaxies and black holes.
in evolution, the same model expresses itself in the forms of incumbency and innovation, environment and adaptation etc.
in politics, it takes shape in the discussion of property rights and the public good, and of freedom versus harms.
in philosophy, we find it in the opposition of theory and paradox and in the pragmatic idea of virtue as the compromise between principles rather than the assertion of individual dogmas.
in economics, it presents itself in the interaction of the free market and regulation and in the expansion of commerce in contrast with the costs of negative externalities.
in mathematics, we see it in the extremes of infinity and the precision of number and as with philosophy in the opposition of theory and paradox.
seems to be everywhere you look.
