hi j-t,

maybe. but don't forget that the british monarch hasn't had control of many of the levers of power since the regicide in the seventeenth century.

prime ministers were running the country and its colonies out of the house of commons when the american english rebelled. by g3's reign, the authority of the house of commons was well established. having a nutty king didn't make much difference.

we lost fair and square.

CF,

It is interesting to note that they didn't have a queen back then. It was King George and he spent the last years of his long life as crazy as a loon! If it had been anyone other than George you folks might not have lost the crown jewel of your colonies!

Regards,

Joe
