Back in the 60s, the guys would all take smoke breaks, I'd take one, two, fair was fair... hacked the boss once in a while, but he was temp help anyway, we were the lifers...
The food service industry has got to one of the worst. With two sons who have worked their whole lives in restaurants, we were shocked when they told us how the only way you could get a break was if you smoked. If you didn't smoke, the management's attitude was that there was no reason to take a break, but if you did smoke then it was OK. Our oldest still smokes but #2 finally quit about 5 years ago and has made it stick.
