im afraid I just dont understand the Q.

I'm not sure what consumption of complimentary ecosystems means, and I don't know what you mean by support our dominance.

Is the question: can we identify new ecosystems to consume in order to maintain our dominance? Or can we quantify our consumption of "complimentary" ecosystems to justify our dominance? The complimentary in "complimentary ecosystems" loses me.

"Support" as in validate, or justify, or to just maintain or enable in a structural energetic sense ... and so on.

So I ignored it as I don't actually understand the question.

"excess" suggests you are asking about support in a moral sense as excess is a value judgement as it pertains to human consumption (for the most part).

as we are somewhat ubiquitous, we are of all ecosystems at this point. so i can't figure what is complimentary. and so on.

I'm delighted that you and Dig chose to engage the concept of evolution. My fundamental questions, however remain unanswered "or avoided."

In fact, are we capable of identifying our excess consumption of compilimentary ecosystems to support our dominance?
