Hi Sun --

Part of the points being lower is likely as BAP said, I think we were in the 762x onslaught when you got them going and the points drop thereafter would not be termed outlandish but it was certainly more than noticeable. By sheer coincidence I just happen to have one on one of my cards right now, but they're infrequent.

The 3D to 2D thing is a greater opportunity because it's one that can usually be addressed. It's almost always the card protecting itself from heat. How are your temps? Got a fan you can blow at the system and see if it makes a diff, just to confirm that it's heat? The other thing that if it happens and you don't re-boot, (as you have) it will stay in 2D until you do. When you do and it returns to 3D and then subsequently drops again that tells me it's probably heat. You could also try merely removing the side of the case as well but let's get a heat benchmark first. Just use MSI AfterBurner if you need a utility, you can adjust a bunch of other things with it as well.

Everybody else continue to jump in, I'll be missing stuff. Start there though Sun.

Guys,

I can't keep Kitt's GPU folding in 3-D. I restart the computer and it shows up with speeds that reflect 3-D, but when I come home from work, it's back into 2-D. I restart, seems to be back into 3-D, get up in the morning, he's back slowed down.

I tried going back to stock speed - that didn't seem to help. I tried leaving the monitor turned on and leaving the monitor turned off in case that would make a difference. nada :-( Nothing seems to help.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated - I hate to see it working away for a pittance of what I know he could be putting out.

Both are getting different work units right now that don't add up to what they did when they were each 1st installed. There for a while, Hollywood was getting work units worth 14,000 and knocking them out every 8 - 8 1/2 hours. Now she's getting 8070's - worth just under 4,000 but takes 3 +\- hours to complete. Knocks her down from 60,000 per day to around 40,000. Kitt knocks down from 40,000 to either 8,000 or 22,000 depending on whether he's in 2D or 3D as he's now getting those same work units.

When I first fired the new card up in Kitt, he was getting those 14,000 units and at that time, Hollywood jumped back to getting those as well for a few days, but now they're both getting the 8070 units.

Sun :-)
