Hi CF, " it should simply create a template of rules around the legal elements of long-term contracts between parties and their dependents." Exactly,allow equality. DOMA (not you faul) should die. I believe prop 8 is unconstitutional and the court will find that it is. I think they'll be mute on legalization of homosexual marriage and leave that up to the states. This discrimination stuff is so yesterday and in my view hypocritical of those proclaiming to be religous. It's way past time to move on.

since we've addressed nearly every other political issue, why not this one?

is it a personal right?

or is it a choice a society makes about itself?

or should it be none of the country's business either way?

for myself, i think the state should not be in the marriage business. regardless of sex. it should simply create a template of rules around the legal elements of long-term contracts between parties and their dependents.
