Hi Alea...

Selfish to evolve oneself to love as each
individual contributes to the whole.....

The fundamental process is for consciousness
to evolve towards love...It does this from
experiencing itself through individual units
of consciousness(Humans,other sentient beings)
in virtual reality trainers such as our Universe.

Our evolution through cooperation and selfishness
(fear) is a fractal reflection of the evolution of
consciousness.

Yes the system is not perfect....Consciousness is
still evolving......Fear(un-ordered bits) still
exist.....but the journey is towards Love.

A system based on fear and what's in it for
me,me,me has a limited shelf life.

Hi doma,

Darwin contemplated cooperation and selfishness. Really he did. And this is a major theme of the folks who represent him now.

Survival is borne not of selfishness but of whatever works best. eg Bees cooperate.

You are not so far from the mainstream in this regard.

I should also note that your idea conforms with my competing forces principle. Except that I don't assign a moral element as you do.

For me, individualism isn't bad and cooperation isn't good. They are forces which describe our existence. They exert a negative influence only as they exclude one another.
