Why would they require it, bb?

They are gaining the benefit they wish for, which is less government.

If they are arguing they lose as a result of having less government, then I think they are removing a plank of their argument which is that government is a negative rather than a constructive force in society.

What I am arguing is that folks who want less government should pass their surplus to people who want more.

If you don't want your potholes filled, great. I'll have more of mine filled.

Alternatively, such folks acknowledge they receive benefits from government. But that is not their argument. So they are estopped from using it.

It has gone unmentioned but presumably you will reduce the taxes on these individuals who are going to forego a certain amount of govt subsidy in their life. Perhaps they will put that money to good use on the specific needs of their life and be happy with the arrangement?
