I live in the red state part of blue state Illinois. Illinois is in financial distress and the governor, a democrat, has been making cuts down here, partially because they didn't vote for him. Every time that I'm in a restaurant or anywhere that the faithful gather to bitch, I always reply by asking them if they believe in small government and low taxes. They always say yes. I then say that they are getting exactly what they asked for. Small government and no services that go with it.

It shuts down every conversation!

wish it could be concentrated in the states which support the idea that government is a bad thing and that visit the house republican party upon everyone else. seems to me that would be just and might cure them of their obsession with cutting government. but maybe the sequester will do that as it is. unnecessary gdp dip and unemployment increase coming our way.
