Good Afternoon Clo!

And that is a darn good question.

I find it impossible to blame a Congressional impasse on the President, and likewise on the Speaker.

I believe we have a certain incumbency of do-nothingness that has temporarily overwhelmed the legislative process.

I am a dyed-in-the-wool believer in the United States Congress. What comes out of that building has changed, and will continue to change the world.

God is an allegory. The Congress is not.
Religion can depend upon providential intervention and zealotry. The United States government can not.

Where there is truth and justice and equality on this planet it comes from this Congress of ours.

Why the People in their infinite wisdom have elected a Congress in which people consider their Constitutional Oath to be fulfilled by doing nothing, is anybody's guess. I can't figure it out either.

My head is full of silliness like separation of powers, rule of law, Congressional intent, and fifty different State constitutions.

I had the great luxury of living in the District of Columbia. I know that the Bureau of Engraving and Printing and the Treasury often stay open all night!

I am hopeful that eventually those underperforming Congressmen will come to their senses, and turn those printing presses on again full blast and start printing those beloved Treaury Bills, the whole world seems to love so much!

The People in their wisdom have built these great warships a thousand feet long and constructed thousands of missiles capable of raining death and destruction anyplace on earth.

Surely we can address the needs of our poor and displaced and our hungry. How can a nation that can spend a billion dollars on an airplane not address the medical needs of our children and our elderly?

A society that depends upon god to feed the hungry will be flooded with the hungry.
A society that depends upon the US Congress to feed the hungry will be fed.

The glory of the Congress and what gives it it's preeminent status among the worlds legislatures is the "doing" of things.

Americans can do anything.

Happy Sunday keystone!

For a man working that many hours, how is it he has little to show for it?

Besides, House is working LESS than any other, except last year. Seems if we are cutting expenses we should start with their pay!

In 2012, they worked 109 days:

In 2013 House lawmakers are scheduled to meet for 126 days in 2013, a slight increase from 2012....
