yup, it remains to be seen whether the couple pieces of newer blood (Souren and Almer) can kick some life into what has otherwise been a remarkably stagnant executive suite.

it's done as a worthwhile investment, from my viewpoint.

ss now has the mobile religion i had and talked endlessly about in 2001. portability is key.

but meanwhile he has an enterprise opportunity in the pc space. if he can capture that, he can ooze from pc into mobile. if he cannot, he's going to be faced with the same problem in mobile he hasn't resolved in the pc space.

"having spent a good part of 2001 trying to convince people that a portable communication infrastructure was the way trust transactions would eventually be initiated, I know a good bit about fruitlessly holding forth in the only business tense that matters much - the present.

I'm biding my time waiting for trusted wireless to happen - which it will. But there are many constraints to overcome in the short run: bandwidth, memory, screen size, keyboard size, battery, chip space etc. And gawd knows where Wave will dredge up the money to design the products."

plus ca change, plus c'est la meme meme.
