They finally did something worthwhile for women!
The House easily passed the Violence Against Women Act on Thursday morning, sending it to President Barack Obama's desk for his expected signature.
The vote was 286-138.
Prior to the final vote, the House rejected a Republican substitute version of the measure. Democrats were united in their opposition to the substitute, arguing it stripped out important protections for LGBT and Native American women.
