on the subject of barge being wrong.
about particulars, sure.
but that's not why i read his posts.
the reason barge is worth reading is that he gives form to thoughts untethered from the whispering gallery. and as such, they are highly original and constructive.
when the wavoid chatter was about pc security, barge was talking about the services security enables. when the conversation was about enterprise adoption, barge was saying it wouldn't take and to think about the consumer market.
when folks make claims to prescience in the sequence of ideas, the person i think of as the fore-runner and stubborn advocate in many cases is none other than this board's barge. he may see phantoms in the immediate marketplace we peruse. but he drinks a very interesting tea, the leaves of which make powerful reading for those interested in the future.
if you want to learn from an original thinker and to build ideas about the long term shape of the tc market, barge's posts offer a great place to begin. if you judge his posts only on the basis of his latest hope, you are reading them the least valuable way. it is barge's themes that are especially instructive.
he isn't simply assembling his theories from the latest components from lee. his ideas are his own and they often run years ahead of the marketplace.
okay y'all. interjection over. this post is not aimed at traders.
