The top 15 institutional holders own about 45% of the outstanding shares. Given that IDCC has about 20,000 patents and last sold them for about $220,000 per patent, it would make sense to take the co. private and sell off the inventory realizing $4+ billion. The rest of the co. could be sold for something. A takeover in the $3 billion range ($75/share) would make someone a lot of money.
