Thanks Sun!

I did some more research and found that my pci x 16 2.0 will not slow down the GPU.

That shouldn't be a problem so this might be a workable fix for me to replace the GTX 550 Ti I had that went kaput, but was very HOT and noisy.

I probably could put the side of the case back on to keep noise down but I am always concerned about the case temps inside, which is the air that is supposed to cool down the GPU and CPU processors. If its already warm it will be even warmer.

Well, I guess I'll find out as soon as I do some negotiating with mrs. micro...... Laughing

Micro,

Yes - typo - it's a 660.

Once I got the new power supply installed and resolved that issue - the GPU was knocking down a fairly consistent 28,000 ppd in the old set-up.

And that's pretty consistent for what it's doing in the new set-up as well.

The CPU points seem to fluctuate quite a bit more than the GPU - seems to depend on work units and they've been pretty varied for it.

Hope that helps.

Sun :-)
