Hi Cactus Flower,

He railed against 'government,' & then explained how 'government' helped him & his family.
His education, his Dad dying with dignity with the help of Medicare & his Mom enjoining Medicare.

Another republican, proving he's not ready for prime time... take another slug buddy...

Did anyone preview his tripe?

I didn't watch Rand Paul's response. I don't even like his cadence... to say nothing of his 'logic!'

That was one strange grab for a drink.

But an even stranger argument.

The GoP really seems to have no choice but to roll out the same old lines. Obama must be a big government liberal. He must be turning the government into a socialist engine. He must be giving the lazy a free ride. Otherwise there is no room for the Republican position that he is negligent and wasteful.

And yet, the numbers are plain to see. There is no mad government expansion. There's only a nasty recession which the US is gradually working its way out of. There's only an economy which lacks the jobs needed to keep everyone employed. In GDP percentage terms, numerator, meet your denominator.

Two new reasons for hope about the US economy going forwards. Natural gas. And Obamacare restricting the growth of health costs. The second term may end up looking very sweet.
