Extremely negative as would a Chicago/Illinois bailout, especially if they didn't present real plans to address their financial problems, ala NYC in the late 1970s. These were not easy or pain-free.
Interesting that virtually all of them were either executed, or at least put in motion, during a Republican administration. Which still begs the question; what would the reaction from the Right be if Obama were to offer Detroit a bail-out?
