Big thanks to both of you!

I looked at an identical hard drive to the old one - there is a place on the back for a jumper - but it's to switch it form 1.5 to 3.0 or vice versa - I'm thinking that's a speed thing I think it was Ghz behind those numbers.

She's been up and running and folding since Sunday night - other than a couple hours while she did Windows updates last night, and I think in my messing around that I lost one work unit that was almost finished :-(

While I'm happy with her, and she's running a lot quieter and seems to be faster here on the internet - I haven't seen any boost on the Folding.

Originally, the GPU was getting a ton of units worth 14,000 points and was knocking those out in between 8-9 hours - now it's getting a lot smaller work units and the point production has reduced a little. When I first installed the GPU - it was knocking out close to 40,000 points a day by itself - right now, the combined production is showing about 33,000 - so I'm a tad bit disappointed in that - I sort of expected to see an increase, not a decrease - but I also know that depends somewhat on the current work units, etc.

I'll give her time - I know I've interfered a lot with installs, updates, etc.

I'm moving forward anyway!

Sun :-)

GM Sun!

Additionally to what Mark said,

DO NOT have this drive showing up in your BOOT order either.

It's for storage.

It likely will appear in "MY COMPUTER" as Drive "D"
in the hard drives and that is fine.

You can simply save stuff to that drive as if it were just another flash drive. Put A folder on it, call it "Sun's Vacation Pics", and put your digital pics inside that folder on that drive.

On SATA drives there are no jumper pins. You simply attach the cable from the drive onto the motherboard sata drive where it belongs.

In this case, you set your boot up drive on SATA 0 and this would be set to SATA port 1

Make sure the BOOTABLE hard drive is set in your BOOT ORDER SEQUENCE in the BIOS to be the SECOND BOOT DEVICE, AFTER your DVDRW drive.

All there is to it.

You are doing GREAT!!!!!! Hang in there. Almost done.

the best,

micro.... Very Happy
