GM Sun!

Additionally to what Mark said,

DO NOT have this drive showing up in your BOOT order either.

It's for storage.

It likely will appear in "MY COMPUTER" as Drive "D"
in the hard drives and that is fine.

You can simply save stuff to that drive as if it were just another flash drive. Put A folder on it, call it "Sun's Vacation Pics", and put your digital pics inside that folder on that drive.

On SATA drives there are no jumper pins. You simply attach the cable from the drive onto the motherboard sata drive where it belongs.

In this case, you set your boot up drive on SATA 0 and this would be set to SATA port 1

Make sure the BOOTABLE hard drive is set in your BOOT ORDER SEQUENCE in the BIOS to be the SECOND BOOT DEVICE, AFTER your DVDRW drive.

All there is to it.

You are doing GREAT!!!!!! Hang in there. Almost done.

the best,

micro.... Very Happy

Micro and Mark,

OK - you've both told me I can, now tell me how? ;-)

I know on the old IDE drives, it was by jumpers - and I do know that my old SATA hard drive has a place for jumpers. Is that what I want to do or have things improved in the last few years and there's an easier way to do it?

Sun :-)
