So the guns are the property of the state in that instance, and its trained staff get to use them for population management.

Personally hate the idea of participating. But I understand other people enjoy the sport and that deer populations need culling. So this model permits shooting but puts arms storage in the hands of the state and requires selection and training of staff.

This solution doesn't suit all circumstances. But it's the kind of model that could work for some types of gun use in a second amendment-free environment.

hi dig,

i have no problem with hunting. it's the prevalence of guns that is the problem.

if the choice is between permitting hunting and restricting gun ownership, i choose restricting gun ownership.

no reason that there shouldn't be official game keepers who manage deer populations. folks could sign up, shoot deer and then put the guns back into secure storage where they belong.
