Sorry Sun, I thought this was in response to the SpeedFan program, I see you were asking about the image. Yes, this will work with any mobo/processor combo, that is the nice thing about images. Once you have all the drivers and updates installed, if you take am image it takes a copy of everything at that time. If you wipe that thing a year from now and reinstall an image that you have saved, you start back with al the drivers and windows updates installed, because they were on there when you took the image.

It can be space-consuming, but very well worth it and a HUGE time saver when it comes to disaster recovery.

I prefer Clonezilla for freeware for this, it is AWESOME once you can figure out its cumbersome interface. Allows you to save over a network and perform backups remotely - neat program.

Vgolf,

A question about that - does that still work with a computer re-build? New motherboard, new processor?

At one point in trying to get her going - I unhooked the new hard drive and tried booting up with the old hard drive - she wouldn't even get to that error screen of Windows shutting down? Wouldn't that have been the same as an imaged hard drive?

Sun :-)
