Very good.

For myself, I see a universe that isn't organised around morality. But in certain circumstances, morality confers an advantage. For instance, in societies, a certain measure of altruism creates benefits both to the group and the individual.

So whatever a God's purpose might have been, in this sphere, it wasn't to deliver an entirely Manichean fabric of creation. But perhaps to find some utility in virtue, all the same.

So then the question is what is a virtue.

And here I have found myself thinking virtue isn't an element. It is a compound.

Or Epicurus

“Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing?
Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing?
Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God?”
