...it ought not be mandatory. Maybe an option to be considered. When I was in high school, we had a school rifle team. Never had an accident. Never had a shooting of any kind. Didn't have as much school violence either.

...of course, I suspect that if asked what classes should be dropped so that there's time for these 'training sessions', I'm sure that science (i.e. evolution) and health (i.e. sex education) would be at the top of his list. Nothing like getting those educational priorities straight:
