The 64 bit O.S. will not bother that at all. You can use your current HD as a storage space. It is no different than using a THUMB drive for storage space.

You will need the 64 bit system in order to utilize four or more GB of RAM for your computer.

You will also need to download 64 bit drivers for hardware like a printer or scanner for example.

Micro,

If I install the XP 64-bit, can I install my current hard drive as a storage space and recover the data from it? Does the 64-bit/32-bit affect how stuff is saved on the hard drive?
