Micro,

I was kicking around the possibility of Windows 8 - but last night read something about Windows 8 not always playing nice with the Galaxy video card I have.

I'd like to just reinstall Windows XP - my current copy is 32bit.

Is there any way to find out if a specific motherboard will support XP? On the 1st rebuild of Hollywood, I ran into problems and didn't get to start her up right away because the old operating system wasn't supported by the new motherboard and I had to order in the Windows XP to get her up and running. I don't want that to happen this time and waste the time.

Sun :-)

I concur with ArVee on that Sun.

Now, what is the drawback?

The drawback is AMOUNT of MEMORY recognized and useable by the operating system.

You will not be able to use more than 4 GB of RAM with 32 bit.

With 64 bit, you can go up whatever....

Windows 7 professional 64 bit wasn't bad. Took a little bit to figure out but really want; horrible.

You might look at WINDOWS XP 64 bit

Or Vista Home Premium 64 bit.

Just some thoughts.

micro... Very Happy
