Micro,

The new power supply has 4 - 12 volt rails.

The video card requires One (1) 6-pin connector and On (1) 8-pin connector. They sent an adapter from 8-pin to Molex 4-pin and it had an issue, so when I order the new power supply, I made sure it had an 8-pin connection - it actually has 2 8-pin connections. It has one of each on two different sets of wires - I used the 6-pin from one string and the 8-pin from the other string - should I have used them from the same string? Thinking out-loud here.

She just restarted again. Event viewer:

Waring 1/16/2013 5:38 HECI
(The HECI interface is being reset.)

and a couple of Errors
Service Control Manager
(Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for the Admin Works Agent X8 service to connect.)
and
Service Control Manager
(Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for the Diskeeper service to connect)

And then a bunch of entries that are informational

Sun :-)

Sun,
How many 6 pin power connectors are required for that video card?

I suspect TWO.

From LOTS of things I have read in the past about these high end video cards, they do require lots of readily available power, a minimum of 50 amps on the power supply which on many 500 - 600 watt supplies is lacking.

It is the AMPS on the 12 volt rails that count, not the wattage rating of the power supply.

I can't stress that enough.

This is why I look for multiple 12 Volt RAIL supplies with over 60 total amps readily available and at least 25 amps on a single rail.

2. Try that new card in a different computer if you can. MAYBE its the pci x 16 slot.????

The 750 watt power supply was a good idea assuming it has some good 12 volt amp ratings.

Keep us posted.
