Yes, shoot it, eat it, our locker was always loaded up with venison, middle brother loved tromping the countryside, then he went off into fishing, but still in his late 70s tends to meander a bit... Brings home the bacon!

It's use (horsemeat) is wider than I thought...

So, my grandfather was from Belgium where horse meat was served like any other domestically harvested foodstuff. Granted it may not have been served at the finest restaurants or in the home of the wealthy, but when he was living on a poor farm, you ate what you had at hand. Not all that different than my growing up in Northern Michigan where we ate what we shot, whether it was in season or not.
