In fact, I thought I said it might be worth testing your idea some place as an interim solution, just so long as it isn't near me.
Maybe you are particular about whether the person holding the weapon is a designated security pro/cop or a teacher. To me, training a teacher to carry and use a weapon and using a security pro isn't much different.
I had second thoughts once I realised that protecting schools isn't enough. You have to protect everywhere there are collections of people. Cinemas, shopping malls etc.
If you have armed police in every location, then you basically end up with a police state.
In choosing freedoms, which is the way these things work, I favour banning guns and being free of the worry that other folks have them, over freeing everyone to arm themselves and dodging the bullets.
