I am amused by the folks who say that people who think the second amendment sucks are extreme. Amused. I also pity them.
I know it is an American choice to have ridiculous death-by-gun rates. That this results from the second amendment. That the deaths of children is a consequence of this choice.
But surely they also know that every other industrial country has no such right. And far lower death-by-gun rates. Access to guns generates death by guns.

The second amendment right to bear arms is an extreme position by global standards. If folks choose to retain it, expect more Newtowns.
What a tragic conversation this is. They won't address the root issue. You can kill a bunch of people with a pistol or any other gun. The way to solve the problem is to treat gun ownership as a privilege rather than a right. Like driving a car.
The solution is blindingly obvious.
