Guys,
Points will go down again for a while. Hollywood is being cantankerous again - starts up, takes forever to get through start-up, finally gets to folding, and then several minutes into folding, she completely shuts down and restarts. If she does the restart on her own, then it takes twice as long to boot up - if I catch her and force a shut down after she starts up, then she does boot up quite a bit faster, but still not like she ought to.
The SMP folding is handling it, but the GPU doesn't accept the "gentle shut down" and start a new work unit each time. So I'm leaving her down until at least tomorrow night when I get home.
She's got a 600 watt power supply in her, but it's about 3 years old and I'm wondering if it's getting weak and causing the problem considering the new video card install, so I ordered a new one tonight. Not sure just how long it will take to get here, but they're usually reasonably fast.
Any other suggestions would be welcome.
Sun :-)
