...my guess is that the air crew wants yer undivided attention during take offs and landings so's folks will buckle up and all that. Wouldn't want somebody to get a knot on their gourd because they weren't buckled up because they didn't hear the pilot telling em to buckle up cause they was putzing with their facebook account and sued the airline.
