Startled, Reid reportedly replied, “What are you talking about?” and Boehner repeated his earlier statement. Boehner then reportedly bragged about the exchange to House Republicans. After a marathon two days on the Hill, both the Senate and the House passed a fiscal-cliff deal, although not without major concessions by Republicans—including allowing tax hikes on the wealthiest Americans. The president is expected to sign the deal on Wednesday.
