Therapy went well yesterday. I learned about six basic exercises that I can do and not hurt from, including how to tighten up the stomach muscles while laying on my back with knees bent and feet flat on the floor.
Hold for count of ten and release. Repeat about 15 times and go on to next exercise.
They say that the CORE is CRITICAL to the spinal support and erectness. Now, I have NEVER had the famous six pack abs even in my very athletic younger days when I played five sports in high school.
For some reason, my body and ab outlines never were meant for each other. lol!!!! Today I just hide them with a layer of "excess", if you know what I mean! lol!!!!!!!
This morning mrs. micro took me to the grocery store
to do a little shopping. I timed it. We went to TWO stores almost next to each other, spent less than $40.00 total and I was getting tired fast at the one hour mark.
But Hey, I was walking and upright, burning some calories and glad to get some fresh air.
How was everyone's Christmas??????
I took Sun's advice ( I usually do to "some" degree")
and before surgery I got mrs. micro a beautiful pair of Real Blue Saphires surrounded by small diamonds in a square pattern on gold earrings. On sale plus I had an extra thirty percent off coupon!
She LOVED them!
Thanks Sun!
I also got her a pair of earrings she pointed out one day we were shopping for the rest of our family, very lovely design, and surprised her with a new Italian leather black purse as she was also looking for a new purse but failed to find one to her liking.
Well, its because she is a notorious penny pincher (who runs the finances here at home) and she just wasn;t going to spend the money on herself.
Well, I bought this purse which started out at $185.00 and was HALF OFF and again had a 30 percent off coupon so I was able to get her a great purse at a decent price.
My joy at Christmas comes from seeing someone I love being very happy and thrilled with whatever we bought for them. Especially the little grandchildren and of course my own children, even though they are in their mid-thirties.
I so hope you guys all had similar experiences and great JOY and family time.
We had a death in the family yesterday. My oldest daughter who lives close by called and told us that the Alaskan Malamut they named "Nicky" was laboring to breathe and finally lifted her head one last time, laid it back down and died. She was a couple days shy of her eleventh birthday.
The grandkids were heart broken as were the adults including myself because Nicky was their first pet and playmate. She was here before they were ever born.
What a gentle and loving animal she was.
I just hate it when our pets die. That is so heart wrenching.
On the home front. my mom got home from the hospital yesterday and is getting better. She has been fighting pneumonia AND plurousy for over three weeks.
My sister is coming down from Michigan and will be at parents house by 2:00 p.m. and we will go over after that for maybe an hour.
I need to rest first.
I sure do hope you guys all had wonderful Christmas' and are privileged to be in good health!
A HAPPY NEW YEAR to OUR TEAM for 2013! May we find a cure for a disease because of our efforts and selflessness in this cause.
God Bless,
micro...
