Obama learned a lesson with the Affordable Care Act, and even the recent election. Republican politicians are scum.
Republicans are whining Obama won't lay his " fiscal plan" on the table . Why should he? When Obama cut Medicare as part of ACA, an effort mirrored in the Ryan budget, he was pilloried for doing so by every Republican self-abuser running for office. Mind you, the move was a compromise to Republicans.
The reality is that the Republicans have no ideas for governing that could get more than 30% of the US vote. The Republicans only political viability is to destroy the Obama Presidency even if it means bringing down the national economy to do so.
