Actually there are databases which has information about the mentally ill, however the NRA lobbied to weaken the background check laws so as to make it harder to access these databases in a timely enough manner so as to make them useful in keeping guns out of the hands of wackos. The same goes for the TSA no-fly list. The NRA objected to flagging suspected terrorists when it came to doing background checks. Apparently they have no problem with keeping these guys off commercial air flights as long as they are still allowed to buy assault weapons and sniper rifles.

weakho

One week after the killing of children, he calls for a armed police officer in every school.

...1/3 of the schools in the country already have em.

He complains that we don't have a national database of the mentally ill. Can't have a national database for all guns, but we should have a national database of all mentally ill people.

...if there is no data base for the mentally ill, how is anyone going to be able to check to make sure they are not selling a weapon to a crazy? How will a national data base for all guns prevent anything?

He supports the second amendment right to bear arms, but seems to trample on the right to free speech by calling out the media, movies, games, etc. as being too violent.

...he is using his first amendment rights to express his opinion about the violence in media ect.
