...mz ribit always insists on cooking a big dinner for Christmas and Thanksgiving. The preparation and clean up ruins two days before and one day after the event. Much rather go out and pay for it myself.

I remember a Thanksgiving over 30 years, when I used to drink alcohol, had a few martinis before the family arrived for dinner.
My brother-in-law asked where the gravy was? I told him he was lucky to get the mashed potatoes!

Those who were there still laugh about it.

Its been 29 years since martinis effected my kitchen abilities ;))
