Hi clo,

Actually, I think he is no better than the NRA. Just because he is against the NRA doesn't mean he wants to do something.

Paul says let the market decide. Don't impose restrictions. Let freedom reign. That's to say, let folks exercise their second amendment rights as they please. Kill children until it stops somehow. No how specified. It will just happen in Paul's magic universe.

The Paul way is the way it has been done. It leads in a bee line towards Newtown. This we know.

You stop this by government preventing it. By fiat. It's the way it is stopped elsewhere. Successfully.

Essentially, Paul's idea is anarchy. No rule other than the freedom to do what you wish. No harm principle.

But anarchy doesn't work. In any sphere. In any country.

Try to rescind the laws of nature if you wish. Continue to exist in a society with the highest death rate by arms in the industrialised world. Live without regulations. Content yourself with the increasing frequency of massacres. And call it freedom.

He's a rare breed.
Maybe his supporters will think about this with an open mind.

Ron Paul Slams NRA Proposal For Armed Guards In Schools: 'Gov't Security Just Another Kind Of Violence'

by Andrew Kirell

Joining other high-profile libertarians who were baffled and put off by the National Rifle Association CEO Wayne LaPierre's insistence on defending the Second Amendment by attacking the First Amendment, and by his proposal to put armed guards in all schools, retiring Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) has officially come out against the NRA's statements, slamming the lobbying organization's proposals by saying that “government security is just another kind of violence.”
