CF,

"i think it is all alive and well where money and politics don't interfere."

Please advise where that place exists. It would give me hope and/or perhaps I just need to be reminded of it periodically. I am not young nor am I old. To me, it appears all of the so-called "good" things the US has done over the years inevitably had its veneer of altruism stripped away by the new era of "data mining" only to expose the ugly truth of capital greed and exploitation. Wall Street and the Hedge Fund managers, Madoff, Jack Welch, extreme bipolar wealth distribution, even the sports heros are serving time, have asterisks by their records, or both.... And on that note - I bid you and your board members - Happy Holidays. Off to the coast for beaches, family, fires, sweaters, scotch, cigars, and naps. What wonderful yule tide holograms....

can recapture its kindly, big, unique spirit.

it's such a tragedy to see it torn apart by its miserable commercial culture and political intransigence. it has so much to offer when you look past these ghastly expressions.

i think it is all alive and well where money and politics don't interfere.
