CF,

I get it as well! Out finest on the HIll cannot make binary decisions. Issues are always sliced-n-diced during negotiations into ineffective irrelevance just to save their bloody jobs. They too realize that deep in their hearts what they are doing is not right. The system is flawed. Just like the 2nd. Just because it served us well to date doesn't mean it cannot be improved.

These stodgy white republicans have made it easy for this stodgy white independent to vote for female candidates in most races. The country needs some maternal healing. Time to disinfect the capital's "me-first winner-take all" hallowed halls as they have become as filled with stale testosterone as the old peep show booths in Times Square. If we can change that place, we can change DC. Everyone needs to grab a mop.

hi loosechange,

i get it! and i agree that protective remedies of some type have become necessary. and this is your concern.

but i think dc will produce some watery compromise that leaves everyone looking like they've done something while actually changing nothing that matters.

it is critical to protect the key right, which is to allow people to hunt deer [exuding sarcasm]. the pols must write law to preserve this and do what they can for children. but killing deer is the top priority.

indeed, i think the second amendment could use a spring clean.

"A happy hunter being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear assault weapons shall not be infringed."

yes. folks have their priorities in balance.
